One of Australia’s leading beer educators is launching a new initiative designed to help beer drinkers better understand beer styles.
Advanced Cicerone Tito Orellana has announced a new project called Edubeer, aimed at making beer education more accessible to Australian consumers.
The concept is simple — helping people understand what different beer styles are actually supposed to look like, smell like and taste like.
That might sound obvious, but with hundreds of recognised beer styles around the world, it can be difficult for consumers to know whether they’re drinking a classic example of a style or something completely different.
From German Pilsners and Belgian Dubbels through to Hazy IPAs and Imperial Stouts, every style has its own history, flavour profile and characteristics.
Tito believes that better beer education can help people become more confident when choosing beer and ultimately enjoy a wider range of styles.
And that’s something we can certainly get behind here at Beer Down Under.
After all, the more you understand about beer, the more there is to discover.
