One of Australia’s newest brewing groups has officially put down roots, with Powder Monkey Brewing opening its first dedicated brewpub in the historic Sydney suburb of Camden.
While the Powder Monkey name is relatively new to Australia, the company has quietly built an impressive portfolio over the past few years, acquiring well-known breweries including Southern Highlands Brewing, Willie the Boatman, Akasha, and Wayward.
The new venue gives the group a permanent home where visitors can enjoy beers from all five brands under one roof, alongside a working brewery and spacious beer garden.
It’s an interesting move at a time when many breweries are doing it tough. Rather than building a brand from scratch, Powder Monkey has focused on bringing together some of Australia’s best-known independent breweries while investing in a destination that celebrates them all.
