South Australian Breweries Celebrate Independents Day

South Australian Breweries Celebrate Independents Day

Thirteen independent breweries and cider producers from across South Australia are joining forces for a new event called Independent’s Day on July 4.

The event is designed to celebrate local, independently owned producers while encouraging beer lovers to visit their local brewery or taproom during the quieter winter months.

Participating venues will host their own unique celebrations, featuring everything from brewery tours and live music through to special food menus and beer tastings.

Organisers say the event is also about reminding consumers that who owns the beer matters, with independent breweries supporting local jobs, local communities and local economies.

It’s a great example of the collaborative spirit that exists within Australia’s independent brewing industry, with competitors coming together to help grow the entire category.

If successful, organisers hope Independent’s Day could become an annual celebration of South Australia’s thriving independent beer scene.
